Firearms Training for Responsible Citizens — Seattle, WA
About FT4RC
Small, personalized training that helps you become self-reliant and your own first responder.
Our Mission
After seeing so many people purchase firearms in 2020 — a huge portion of them first-time buyers — we decided it was better to have trained gun owners than just gun owners. We started FT4RC with one belief: responsible ownership starts with knowledge.
Owning a firearm is a right in this country, but it is also a huge responsibility. Our goal is to help responsible individuals develop the skills, knowledge, and attitude necessary to safely operate, maintain, and store their firearm.
Most of our classes are 1 to 5 students per instructor — not 10 to 1. You get real attention, real answers, and training that sticks.
We go beyond firearms. Medical response and emergency preparedness training means you're ready for whatever comes first — not just a home invasion.

Frequently Asked Questions
U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents (green card holders) age 21 and older who are eligible to legally purchase guns in the U.S. may receive training. If you are not in one of those categories, you may also receive training if you possess a valid WA State Alien Firearms License. Individuals simply visiting the U.S. may not receive firearms training per Federal law.
Minors above the age of 15 who meet the above requirements may take classes with a parent attending and a signed parental waiver. The Free Gun Safety class is open to anyone, but given the serious content and length of the class, it is not advised to bring children under the age of 12.
There are plenty of great instructors out there and many offer less expensive training. We only do small classes — 1 to 5 students at a time — so you will get individual training, real attention, and all your questions answered. Our belief is in quality, not quantity. Many places offer similar classes for less but they typically have a student-to-instructor ratio of 10 to 1.
Go to the class page and tell us which class you want to attend. If your class is full, we post the next month's dates early in the prior month. We will text or email you to confirm your needs, discuss times that work for your schedule and ours, and go over any equipment needed. We accept Venmo or PayPal. Once your payment is received, your spot in the class is confirmed.
Most classes are taught in Ballard in the City of Seattle. We can also arrange small private event classes if you have a group of people wanting training and a venue of your own.
